Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh is the cover star for Wow Magazine’s latest issue.
For the interview with the magazine, she opens up on finding Christ, her son, co-parenting, dating, feminism and more.
Read excerpts from her Interview below:
On co-parenting: I don’t co-parent so I can’t speak much on this question, but I have seen cases where women’s baby fathers help out with the child and it is it good and it is something I’m always open to.

On finding Christ: I would say it happened in various ways. It was not just an overnight enlightenment session. It was more of a period of learning from mentors in Christ and making steady changes. It has made me a better person, he died so I could live.
On how she handles negative energy on Social Media: I try not to bother anymore. Sometimes I may have the time but most times I don’t really care. People are entitled to their opinions or entitled to troll. It’s their data not mine. As for me I will continue to give as much positive energy as I can. It’s not easy thing to do but just like faith, it’s a supernatural feature that can be built up inside you.
On her Tattoos: Each tattoo came at different periods in my life so they all have different memories attached to them. I have no plans of adding anymore for now. Tattoos aren’t really my priority.

Ariana Grande covers British Vogue July 2018 Issue

One simple change in your hairstyle can make you look completely different and Ariana Grande is proof as she covers the July 2018 issue of British Vogue.
The 24-year-old singer took down her signature ponytail for the shoot as she opens up about dealing with anxiety, the Manchester attack and more.
Read excerpts below:
On anxiety: I think a lot of people have anxiety, especially right now, My anxiety has anxiety… No. I’ve always had anxiety. I’ve never really spoken about it because I thought everyone had it, but when I got home from tour, it was the most severe I think it’s ever been.
On returning home after her 2017 tour: Everybody thought I was crazy when I got home and wanted to hit the ground running. I was in the studio the next day. I am a workaholic.
On the Manchester attack: It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.

Tonto Dikeh is ‘Thanking God for the Gift of Life’ as she celebrates her Birthday Today

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh is a year older today.
To celebrate her new age, the actress has shared few photos shot by Momodumedia accompanied with a few words. She wrote:
Happy birthday to me!
They say ‘Life opens up many unexpected changes, beautiful possibilities and even some disastrous heartbreak. That’s how life is – it’s spontaneous, amazing, painful and yet, undeniably fulfilling’. People usually compare their life to that of a roller coaster. Spinning them round and round with unexpected twists and turns. I realised my life has been somewhat different. I would say my life has been rather one heck of an Amusement park that harbours many rollercoasters. For many years I had been jumping from one ride to the other in search of fulfilment to a void I felt Was empty.
No matter the next ride I got in, it would take me to the same destination. A disappointing end to an exhilarating journey. This was the repetitive manner in which I lived my life. Little did I know that a higher being had higher plans for me. Little did I know that the Angels where looking down in heavy anticipation. Waiting for instructions from the Father to intercept my case.
You see life is like an unending school. Those who refuse to learn will never progress to a higher level. As I clock another year in the university of life I can confidently say that I am progressing to the next level. I have learnt so much in the class of Giving, Love, understanding and spirituality.
I want to thank God for the gift of life. There is nothing more precious.

King Me! Donald Trump is on the cover of TIME Magazine’s June Issue

For the cover of TIME Magazine‘s June issue Donald Trump is painted for the fourth time by brooklyn-based artist Tim O’Brien, staring at his reflection in a jeweled crown and robe.
Speaking on the cover, O’Brien said:
This portrait of Trump gazing into a mirror and seeing a king gets to the heart of how he and his legal team have approached this past week and the past 500 days, actually.
Besides the usual challenge of the short deadline and making the image work, whether or not to have him looking at himself or looking at us was the thing I pondered most. His eye contact with each reader, each American fits the situation best.
According to TIME, the cover is meant to address the political attacks launched by the White House on Robert Mueller, who is the special counsel appointed to investigate potential meddling by Russia in the 2016 presidential election.

Donald Trump commutes Alice Johnson’s Sentence following Kim Kardashian Meeting

Just a week after meeting with  Kim Kardashian, U.S President Donald Trump has commuted the life imprisonment sentence of Alice Johnson, a 62-year old first-time drug offender.
Confirming the news, Kim tweeted “BEST NEWS EVER!!!!’ followed by a series of tweets thanking Trump and Jared Kushner
A statement from the White House confirming the news said:
Ms. Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades. Despite receiving a life sentence, Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself in prison, and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates.
While this Administration will always be very tough on crime, it believes that those who have paid their debt to society and worked hard to better themselves while in prison deserve a second chance.

Saudi Arabia issues first set of Driving Licenses to Women

Saudi Arabia has started issuing its first driving licenses to women, AL Jazeera reports.
The country had announced in September 2017 that it would begin to allow women to drive, a move that indicated the country’s willingness to return to a “moderate Islam,” according to the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Ten Saudi women have so far been issued driving licenses, with internationally recognized driving licenses being swapped with Saudi ones.
The first woman to receive hers was recorded, a video which has gone viral on social media.

The process is expected to roll out over the month of June, across various spots in the country.
Prior to the move allowing women to drive, Saudi Arabia had been the only country in the world that banned women from driving.

The women rights activists who had fought for the right to drive were recently arrested, the state branding them a threat to national security.

MURIC wants Falz to remove “This is Nigeria” video or face Legal Action

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asked that Falz remove his video for “This is Nigeria” within 7 days or face legal action.
According to the Cable, the request was made in a statement made by the group’s director, Ishaq Akintola.
The video, upon its release, had Nigerians in a frenzy, with some describing it as genius and others saying it was badly done.
The group has described the video as a “hate video,” complaining that it was biased against the Fulani people and trivializes the plight of the Chibok Girls.
MURIC also asked that Falz make a public apology.
The statement read:
MURIC rejects Falz’ explanation that the girls in hijab in his ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance symbolize the Chibok girls because nothing in the video indicates that the girls represent the Chibok girls.
At least none of the Chibok girls have been seen dancing like a drunkard. They are always in pensive mood. Do they have any cause to be dancing? Are they happy?
The video manifests ethnic bias against Fulanis while it ignored the criminal activities of ethnic militia of the Middle Belt who have also massacred Fulanis and rustled their cattle in their thousands.
It is a hate video. This video has the potential of causing religious crisis of unprecedented dimension.
It is an assault on the self-dignity of every Muslim. It is freedom of expression gone haywire.
We therefore demand its withdrawal and an apology to Nigerian Muslims within seven days or the authors and their agents will face legal action if they fail to comply.
Only the scenes portraying police brutality and the money-swallowing snake in the video are near the truth.
We call the attention of security agencies to this hate action.
We remind Nigerians of the outcome of similar provocative actions in the past and their unpalatable outcomes.
The National Film And Video Censors Board (NFVCB), a regulatory agency set up by Act No. 85 of 1993 to regulate films and the video industry has a case to answer. ‘Shaku Shaku’ video was shot and released under its watch.
Instead of going violent, Nigerian Muslims should take those behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video to court in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
We therefore give notice of impending legal action against the artist behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video unless the latter is withdrawn and an apology is widely published within seven days.

Buhari says Nigerian Army was “constrained to show a lot of restraint” against Biafrans in Civil War

President Muhammadu Buhari has said the Nigerian Army showed a lot of restraint against the Biafrans during the Civil War, The Cable  reports.
Buhari said this on Monday in Abuja while speaking at his investiture as Grand Patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS).
The then Head of State Yakubu Gowon had issued instructions that the Nigerian Army was not fighting enemies but “brothers,” the president said.
Gowon, he continued, “is a highly committed Nigerian.” He said:
Earlier in my profession, during the civil war, I know how much sacrifice members of the Nigerian Red Cross and their international counterparts did both in the real front of operations and at the rear, on both sides. I think it is a lot of sacrifices because anything can happen to you in the operational areas.
The risks they faced were real and I admire their courage and commitment to helping people who were in distress and were virtually in millions. Those photographs of people from the Biafra enclave spoke a lot.
I remember with nostalgia the performance of the commander-in-chief, General Yakubu Gowon. Every commander was given a copy of the commander-in-chief’s instructions that we were not fighting enemies but that we were fighting our brothers. And thus, people were constrained to show a lot of restraint.
The international observer teams were allowed to go as far as possible within and outside the front and I think this was generous and very considerate of General Gowon. He is a highly committed Nigerian.
The Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Biafran War, was fought between 1967 & 1970, with a million Biafrans said to have died of starvation.

23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williamshas withdrawn from her French Open match with Maria Sharapova over an injury.
A disappointed Serena made the announcement just before both players were due on the court, Guardian reports.
She said:
Unfortunately I’m having some issues with my pec muscle. Right now I can’t actually serve so it’s kind of hard to play.
It’s very difficult. I love playing Maria. I’ve made every sacrifice I could. I made a commitment to myself and my team that if I wasn’t at least 60% I wouldn’t play. I’ve never felt this in my life. It’s so painful.
She shared that she had an MRI scan on Tuesday. She’s was really hoping she’d get better, she continued. She said:
I’m beyond disappointed. I gave up so much from time with my daughter & time with my family all for this moment. So it’s really difficult to be in this situation.
I thought [doubles] was a perfect opportunity to see how I was going. I tried a lot of different tapings and support. It didn’t get a lot better.
